I CANT BELIEVE WE ARE IN SINGAPORE

The weekend was amazing in Paris. Old friends, childish parents, fresh pints, sneakers and overdose of japanese food have spiced up the final countdown before the take off to Singapore (that I am now able to point in the map with nearly 96% confidence).

After some tetris level 9 with the luggages - how to fit 96 kg into 40 kg , and with people - how to fit 6 persons in 4 beds, we arrived monday morning at the Aeroport Charles de Gaulle with a deja-vu feeling of "something is gonna go wrong".

Flashback: Singapore airlines is one of the most hated company in the sky and they work hard for it.

So having only a one way ticket and not having the credit card used to buy the tickets was definitely not a good idea from us. Impossible to get a boarding pass without a proof that we will leave Singapore within 30 days.

We had to: run and find an internet point with printer in a French airport (the signalization in France is terrible), buy two tickets to Vietnam (cheap and anyway planned at some point to visit family), failed twice because of 3D mobile secure (no mobile!) and rubbish HSBC Malta (RUBBISH!), run back with the A4-Graal in the hands when they asked:

"can we see the credit card?"

Semi fail here, on my last days in the rock, I went twice to BOV San Gwan (I knew I would have to come back) to get a letter from the bank stating the card does not exist anymore blablabla. It would have been okay if the 4 digits were matching Singapore Airlines database, which was not the case at the counter.

- "C'mon you can't do that to us"
- "We had to screw up honey moons in the past for the same reason"
- "Please (bitch)"
- "Spanish, French, Asian face, Maltese bank, One way ticket, too dodgy sorry"

It was not looking good at all. Epic fail in my mind. Running bad and no outs.

But God knows how, we managed to talk to BOV Customer Service over the phone and they gave us other last 4 digits, only 10 minutes before boarding. Authorized! I couldn't believe it, the river finally hit me!

We are now in Singapore in a very nice condo of friends of friends, and I just bought a MacBook Pro to evacuate the stress of the morning and have a decent tool to look for a job (lol). We are going to visit a flat now, but Bea is sleeping and snoozing like a pro (30 minutes more already 3 times).

See you later!

Comedores Viajeros

Callejeros Viajeros is a very popular program in Spain. It relates the adventures of some Spanish people (I call them the "Jamones") around the world, fuera de Espana. I have not seen the episode in Singapore, but my girlfriend Bea sent me the link this morning. I don't think I am going to see it, I'd rather 1- keep the mystery 2- not scare the crap out of me as I have heard already pretty sick stories about the law and strict rules in Singapore. No, thank you, I will learn the hard way (around $1,000 fine per lesson).

Freeze! Drop the Chewing Gum on the table!

Anyway, I know already what's in this video, it is always the same; but it is really funny if you know Spanish people, I mean Jamones. This is my guess of what is in this video:

- People will compare the food in Singapore to the food in Spain, they will probably say: very strange, very good, but there is no jamon pata negra ("solo falta jamon")

- A posh woman of expat will do some touristic tour guide, throwing some cultural facts at the face of the whole nation. Let me clarify: this woman didn't know any of that before she was picked by la Cuatro.

- Fiesta: at some point and with some freaky jamon dude, we'll be in some night club in the top of a skyscraper. We'll meet his friends and we'll see "asian tapas girls" dancing around the camera. The guy will say something like "la verdad es que se vive MUY bien aqui".

- An Expat with his Asian girlfriend/wife. She will probably say "hola que tal" and that's all she knows in Spanish.

- People will talk more about food. Food is 50% of the Spaniard brain, the other half is Barca or Madrid.
